BBQ Chipolte Burgers

BBQ Chipolte Burgers



Rootham Chipotle BBQ/Dipping Sauce


Makes 4 Burgers


Heat the oil in a small skillet over medium heat.  Sauté the onions until soft, about 5 minutes.  Cool slightly.


Whisk egg with Rootham Chipotle BBQ/Dipping Sauce, cumin, and parsley.  Stir in cooled onions and bread crumbs.  Add sausage and ground pork.  Work the meats into the sauce mixture until blended.  Divide meat into 4 equal portions.  Shape into patties about 4 inches around and ¾ inch thick making a shallow well in the centre of the burger*.  Heat barbecue to medium.  Grease grill and cook burgers 6 to 8 minutes per side.  Serve on toasted buns with your choice of condiments.


Note:  1 pound of ground beef can be substituted for the sausage and ground pork.


*By making a shallow indent in the middle of the burger, the burger will remain flat as it is cooked.


Chipotle Mayonnaise

To add a little more heat to your burger, combine 2 parts mayonnaise with 1 part Rootham Chipotle BBQ/Dipping Sauce.  Serve with the burgers in place of ketchup
